Working directly with those building businesses has given me a unique opportunity to see inside the world Of entrepreneurs In our country. I get to see some amazing people working very hard to build great, inspiring business. These people are sacrificing and striving day in and day out. Sometimes they are barely able to break even and keep the lights on. others are wildly successful and rapidly scaling their business.Something I have noticed is that many of these persons well skilled in their areas and field of study, but in the world of digital marketing They are lacking greatly.
These are hard-working entrepreneurs against, building their businesses but the businesses or not implementing digital tactics to ensure that they up being found by potential customers. I’ll give you a story of a business I passed recently. the store had a handwritten note in the window that said 15% off storewide sale. this intrigued me because the store’s parking lot was empty. Was this sign in the window an attempt by the hard-working persons on the inside to try to boost their sales? I went online to do a quick Google search of the store’s name I was hard-pressed to find them in an online telephone directory. In retrospect, I imagine the persons on the inside of the store working hard all day to prepare their products for potential customers. ensuring their store is presentable and ready to engage in business. however, the reality is they’re competitive just down the street have been cultivating a strong social media presence for the past several years. The competitors have been promoting directly to potential customers, using digital strategies to build a relationship with those customers. I didn’t know when I passed that competitive Not only was that parking lot full but even leave for traffic around that store indicated that they had more persons interested and what they had to offer.
I shared that story because it is an illustration of where we are in this day in age. Many small businesses that have not adopted digital Solutions are finding themselves in a position where they have lost that Competitive Edge in the market. A frustrated entrepreneur once asked me “ how do I compete when by competitors and I both go to the same retailers, sell the same products. When the market is becoming increasingly smaller due to more competition”? It is difficult to respond to this question as each person’s case may be different. how of my Reply usually starts off with a question about the company’s tactics of building an online a digital presence.
each year thousands of younger consumers enter the market. they’re looking to have their needs met, but something a lot of businesses forget is that this younger generation is also more in tune with technology. Millennials are more likely to perform a Google search to find an answer to a question then they are to ask a friend or open a phone book. Most persons under the age of 10 do not know how to use a phone book. What are some of the things that you were doing today the good make your business more visible to these new younger consumers in the market? How are you providing answers to those that are asking questions in a digital Arena?
in reference to the story, I shared Gone are the days when a handwritten sign in the window I list all can bring in customers. Now a business has to be on Social media just maintain it’s current position in the market. don’t get left behind.
